- I have been a newspaper journalist for more than 35 years, most of them as executive editor of TH Media, publisher of the Telegraph Herald, THonline.com and other products.
In my spare time, I research and write non-fiction, including corporate histories and sports biographies.
My books include "First Heisman: The Life of Jay Berwanger" (Crestwood Publishing, 2013), on the Dubuque native who first won the iconic football trophy; "Ray Schalk: A Baseball Biography", on the Hall of Fame catcher of the Chicago White Sox (1912-28) (McFarland & Co., 2009); "Red Faber: A Biography of the Hall of Fame Spitball Pitcher," (McFarland, 2007) on the Dubuque County native who starred for Chicago White Sox; and a commissioned corporate history, "McCoy Group: A History of Commitment to the Customer" (2012).
Currently, I am writing a commissioned history of the Bob and Ruth Kehl family and their enterprises.
